Summary: Oversee the end-to-end deployment lifecycle, utilizing Gearset to automate CI/CD pipelines, manage metadata, and ensure environment synchronization.
Key responsibilities include managing Git-based version control, executing risk-aware deployments, maintaining sandbox integrity, and compliance reporting to stakeholders for stable, efficient Salesforce releases. Should
have a experience in Salesforce & DevOps & Release Management areas.
Job Title: Salesforce Release Manager (Gearset Expert)
Key Responsibilities
• Gearset & CI/CD Administration: Architect and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines in Gearset,
reducing manual deployment efforts and optimizing deployment speeds.
• Version Control & Branching: Manage Git repositories, enforcing branching strategies and
resolving code conflicts within Gearset before merging.
• Deployment & Metadata Management: Oversee deployment, validation, and rollback strategies
across sandbox, staging, and production environments.
• Environment Strategy: Own sandbox refresh schedules, data seeding, and metadata
synchronization to prevent environment drift.
• Release Governance & Risk Management: Lead “Go/No-Go” meetings, identify dependency
risks, and ensure compliance with governance policies.
• Collaboration: Act as the liaison between developers, QA teams, and business stakeholders,
providing release status updates and documentation.
Required Skills and Qualifications
• Expert Knowledge of Gearset: Deep understanding of Gearset for DevOps, including
comparison, deployment, CI/CD monitoring, and backup/restore.
• Salesforce Expertise: Proficiency in Salesforce metadata, deployment limits, and environment
management (Sandbox to Production).
• Version Control (Git): Solid understanding of Git branching strategies (e.g., Gitflow).
• DevOps Mindset: Experience in implementing DevOps best practices, automation, and quality
checks (e.g., static code analysis).
• Soft Skills: Strong communication, conflict resolution, and organizational skills.
Preferred Experience
• Experience with other DevOps tools (e.g., Copado, Jenkins, GitHub Actions) is a plus.
• Relevant Salesforce certifications (e.g., Certified Administrator, Certified Platform Developer).
• Experience with Agile methodologies.
