About the Role
We’re seeking a hands-on Lead Platform Engineer to support multiple applications in the commercial credit area. You should have some complex incident resolution experience, guide support operations, and deliver a best-in-class end-user experience across Citrix, network infrastructure, and open systems (Linux/Unix) for supported applications. You’ll lead escalations, drive root cause analysis, proven capacity to learn and adapt in dynamic environments, and partner with platform, security, and application teams to ensure high availability, performance, and security.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Support Special Projects
o Immediately be able to set up and support a Citrix based MS Access Front end and SQL Server backend solution.
• Technical Leadership & Escalations
o Act as the top-tier (L3) escalation point for incidents across Citrix Virtual Apps/Desktops, network services, and Linux/Unix systems. Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventative measures. Administer, maintain, and optimize Citrix environments (CVAD, Workspace, Provisioning, Director, Studio). Manage Citrix ADC policy, SSL certs, and load balancing. Capacity planning, image management, session performance tuning, and app layering.
• Networking & Open Systems
o Administer Linux/Unix systems (package mgmt, services, logs, shell scripting, performance). Collaborate on network changes, monitoring, and resilience improvements.
• Automation, Monitoring & SRE Practices
o Build scripts/automation (PowerShell, Bash, Python) to streamline support workflows. Implement and enhance monitoring/observability (Splunk, DynaTrace and Sitescope). Define SLIs/SLOs for key services; drive performance baselines and capacity models.
• Process & Service Management
o Own ITIL-based processes for Incident, Problem, Change, and Knowledge Management. Author and maintain SOPs, runbooks, KB articles; enforce documentation standards. Partner with Security for patching, vulnerability remediation, MFA/SSO, and compliance (ISO/SOC/HIPAA as applicable).
• Team Development
o Strong ability to work collaboratively across teams and functions.
o Bring data-driven insights to the team; recommend tooling and process improvements.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
We require a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field like Information Systems or equivalent experience, along with 6-8 years of practical experience.
Required skills:
• Deep hands-on experience with: Citrix: Virtual Apps & Desktops, ADC/NetScaler, Workspace, Provisioning/Imaging, Director/Studio. Networking: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewalls, load balancing, routing/switching, packet analysis. Familiarity with requesting network services: Routing, Firewalls, NATs, Linux/Unix administration, shell scripting, etc.
• Ability to support and deploy Windows Server based solutions.
• Working knowledge of real-time messaging and batch file transfer implementation and troubleshooting using different packages and methodologies (MQ, FTP, SCP, Sterling, etc)
• Experience with application databases in Oracle, MS-SQL and DB2 to include table design, table updates, query design, table load
• Experience with IBM Mainframe technologies (TSO/Roscoe, COBOL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, JCL, SAS,Debug)
• Windows Server & Active Directory (GPO, OU design, Kerberos/NTLM), PowerShell.
• Familiar with VMware vSphere and/or Microsoft HyperV.
• Strong troubleshooting methodology (layered analysis, log tracing, packet captures, perf counters).
• Experience with ITIL processes and enterprise-scale support operations.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
• Cloud & Hybrid: Azure/AWS fundamentals, Azure AD/Entra ID, SSO/MFA, conditional access.
• Profiles & App Delivery: FSLogix, App Layering, Citrix policies, print management.
• Observability & Logging: Splunk/ELK, Grafana/Prometheus, synthetic monitoring.
• Security: SSL/TLS, cert lifecycle, RADIUS/LDAP, encryption standards, Zero Trust concepts.
• Automation/DevOps: Infrastructure-as-Code awareness (Terraform/Ansible), CI/CD for scripts/runbooks.
• Storage & Backup: SAN/NAS basics, snapshots, backup/restore workflows.
