SAP Business Analyst In-House VMI / Order Replenishment

About the Role:
We are building an in-house Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) and order replenishment system to streamline inventory and procurement operations. We are looking for a Business Analyst (BA) with deep knowledge of SAP ECC and SNC processes and supply chain expertise to define functional requirements, design workflows, and bridge business needs with technical implementation.
This role will be instrumental in ensuring our solution replicates key SAP VMI functionalities while tailored to our internal processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze and document current order replenishment and inventory processes.
Gather functional requirements for in-house VMI, including stock monitoring, automated replenishment, and vendor collaboration.
Model SAP ECC MM/SD processes and SNC collaboration logic for in-house implementation.
Define replenishment rules: reorder points, safety stock, min/max levels, lead time, and alerts.
Collaborate with solution architect, developers (backend and frontend) and QA engineers to translate requirements into workflows and system designs.
Design exception handling flows (stockouts, overstock, delayed vendor shipments).
Create test cases and support UAT to ensure system meets business needs.
Provide functional documentation, SOPs, and KPI definitions for monitoring system performance.
Required Skills & Experience:
5-8 years of SAP experience, specifically:
ECC MM/SD modules (inventory, procurement, orders)
SNC or VMI functionality (vendor collaboration, replenishment automation)
Strong supply chain / inventory management knowledge (order replenishment, safety stock, lead times).
Experience in requirements gathering, process mapping, and functional specification.
Ability to translate SAP processes into custom/in-house solutions.
Familiarity with data integration workflows, APIs, or IDoc/EDI flows is must
Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills with agile framework experience to build user stories, features and epics to lead and own product road map
Preferred:
Prior experience in in-house VMI or order replenishment system development.
Knowledge of cloud platforms or data platforms (Databricks, S3, etc.).
Exposure to automation workflows and ADO boards
