MS SQL Database Architect C2C requirements Pittsburgh, PA

Job Title: MS SQL Database Architect
Location: Pittsburgh, PA (Onsite)
Duration: Long Term Contract

Looking for a Database Assessment Specialist with strong experience in evaluating database environments, defining Recovery Time Objective (RTO) and Recovery Point Objective (RPO), and designing backup and disaster recovery (DR) strategies aligned with business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

· Perform end-to-end database assessments across environments.

· Analyze business criticality and map applications to databases.

· Define RTO and RPO requirements in collaboration with business and IT stakeholders.

· Assess current backup, restore, replication, and DR mechanisms. Identify gaps between current state vs target RTO/RPO.

· Recommend DR architectures (active-active, active-passive, multi-region, replication).

· Validate backup strategies (full, incremental, log backups, snapshots). Support DR drills and restore testing.

· Document assessment findings, risks, and recommendations.

· Provide cost vs resilience trade-off analysis. Work closely with Infrastructure, Application, Security, and Cloud teams.
