Job Description:
The Business System Analyst role is critical to translating business requirements into actionable specifications for our technology teams. This position is based in Halifax and requires a sharp focus on data analysis, logical reasoning, and precise documentation within the systems development lifecycle.
Core Responsibilities
Perform thorough data analysis to understand business processes and identify necessary system changes.
Document and maintain clear, up to date requirements and process flows within Confluence documents.
Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and development or quality assurance teams.
Explain complex technical requirements and business rules clearly to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
Drive the requirements definition process from initiation through to acceptance.
Jira Story Management: Take ownership of the creation and life cycle of development work. This includes:
Opening and initiating Jira stories.
Writing detailed, unambiguous Jira stories that serve as the single source of truth for both development and quality assurance efforts.
Required Experience and Aptitude
Demonstrated experience with Jira and Confluence in an agile software development environment.
Proven ability to look at data and conduct a structured analysis of system impact and business value.
Strong foundation in logic and a solid understanding of basic mathematical principles necessary for defining system requirements and validations.
Exceptional written communication skills for producing high quality documentation and user stories.
