The Railroad Commission of Texas is seeking a Legacy Level 3 Software Engineer specialized in Mainframe Top Secret Security (TSS) Administration. This senior-level role is critical for maintaining data security, regulatory compliance, and supporting both legacy systems and the Mainframe Transformation Team. You will act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for z/OS operating systems and security infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Security Administration: Manage Broadcom (formerly CA) Top Secret Security (TSS) for mainframe applications and infrastructure.
Systems Support: Handle z/OS configuration, break/fix support, and user account lifecycle management.
Cryptographic Management: Lead certificate renewals, TLS configuration (SSL/RSA Keys), and secure file transfers (SFTP/FTPS).
Transformation Support: Support data center consolidation services (DCS) and modernization efforts.
Performance & Monitoring: Monitor system performance using RMF/SMF and provide root cause analysis for platform issues.
Operations Coordination: Oversee automated job scheduling (JOBTRAC) and provide support for ISV products like BlueZone.
Required Skills & Experience (Minimum)
8+ Years: Hands-on experience with TSS (Top Secret Security).
5+ Years: Hands-on z/OS Administration.
5+ Years: Experience with JES2, OMVS (Unix System Services), and SMS (Storage Management Subsystem).
3+ Years: TLS/SSL Configuration (Certificates, RSA Keys, SFTP/FTPS).
Preferred Skills & Knowledge
Automation: Experience with REXX scripting.
Informatica: Experience with Power Exchange Administration for Change Data Capture (CDC) using IMS and VSAM.
Networking: Knowledge of VTAM and TCP/IP.
Mainframe Utilities: Proficiency in JCL, TSO, SMP/E, GRS, and VSAM.
Workload Management: Understanding of WLM (Workload Management) and performance analysis.
