Job Title: Mainframe Developer with IDEAL Experience

Job Description:

Position Summary: The Mainframe Developer with IDEAL experience will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining mainframe applications using the IDEAL programming language. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical skills, a deep understanding of mainframe environments, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Key Responsibilities:

Application Development: Design, code, test, and implement mainframe applications using IDEAL.

Maintenance and Support: Provide ongoing support and maintenance for existing mainframe applications, troubleshoot issues, and implement enhancements.

Database Management: Work with mainframe databases, ensuring data integrity and performance optimization.

Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, project managers, and other developers, to gather requirements and deliver solutions.

Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, user guides, and operational procedures.

Performance Tuning: Optimize application performance and ensure efficient use of system resources.

Security Compliance: Ensure applications adhere to security standards and best practices.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Experience: Minimum of years of experience in mainframe development, with a focus on IDEAL programming.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in IDEAL programming language.

Strong knowledge of mainframe technologies, including COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2.

Experience with mainframe tools and utilities, such as TSO, ISPF, and SDSF.

Familiarity with version control systems and software development lifecycle methodologies.

Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug and resolve complex technical issues.

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues at all levels.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with other mainframe programming languages and tools.

Knowledge of Agile development methodologies.

Certification in mainframe technologies or IDEAL programming
