Role Overview:
The Sr Solutions Engineer is a strategic, customer facing technical advisor who partners with Sales to design, validate, and position business outcome driven solutions leveraging Salesforce and AI. This role blends deep Salesforce platform expertise with consultative skills across architecture, business process design, and value realization. You’re an expert on core Sales and Service Cloud, while bringing differentiated expertise in Agentic Enterprise patterns, Partner Relationship Management (PRM), and CPQ/Revenue Cloud, especially in the context of migrations from legacy Salesforce CPQ. Your mission is to craft compelling solution narratives, validate technical feasibility, de-risk delivery, and accelerate PS bookings by aligning customer outcomes with scalable, AI-ready Salesforce architectures.
Key Responsibilities:
Solution Design & Advisory
- Lead discovery sessions to understand business processes, pain points, KPIs, and current-state application landscapes.
- Translate business requirements into scalable Salesforce solution designs.
- Develop architectural diagrams, data models, process flows, and deployment approaches.
Pre-Sales & Deal Support
- Partner with Sales to scope, estimate, and shape Statements of Work (SOWs).
- Present solution options, trade-offs, and roadmap recommendations to executives and technical stakeholders.
- Build confidence in the delivery plan by mapping business outcomes to deliverables, milestones, and acceptance criteria.
- Support opportunity qualification, RFP responses, and technical evaluations.
Thought Leadership & Differentiators
- Advise customers on adopting Agentic Enterprise principles: autonomous workflows, human-in-the-loop controls, data governance, and secure orchestration across systems.
- Guide organizations in PRM modernization (Experience Cloud, partner onboarding, deal registration, incentives, co-selling).
- Provide leadership on CPQ → Revenue Cloud migration strategy, including data readiness, process remediation, product modeling, and future licensing changes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with Delivery Leads, Architects, and Project Managers to ensure the sold solution is implementable and aligned with delivery best practices.
- Collaborate with Offering Leads to package reusable assets such as accelerators, templates, and reference architectures.
- Assist Customer Success with escalation triage, health checks, and roadmap planning.
Enablement & Practice Development
- Contribute to internal playbooks for scoping, estimation, value mapping, and AI-ready solution patterns.
- Mentor junior SEs and consultants.
- Participate in marketing webinars, case studies, and thought leadership on Salesforce modernization.
Required Qualifications
- 5 – 8+ years in Solution Engineering, Solution Architecture, or Technical Consulting roles in the Salesforce ecosystem.
- Strong proficiency in Sales, Service & Experience Clouds across configuration, automation, integrations, and process optimization.
- Demonstrated experience engaging with Professional Services teams to scope and estimate SOWs.
- Ability to lead technical discovery, craft architecture docs, and present solutions to both executives and developers.
- Solid understanding of Salesforce data model, APIs, security model, and governance limits.
- Strong communication, storytelling, and executive-facing presentation skills.
- Agentic Enterprise & AI: Experience designing or implementing agentic workflows, task automation, or multi-system orchestration.
- Familiarity with Agentforce – Data Cloud, data management, automation frameworks, conversational interfaces, or autonomous decision engines.
Partner Relationship Management
- Experience in PRM, including partner portals, deal registration flows, partner onboarding, MDF/incentives, and channel analytics.
CPQ / Revenue Cloud
- Knowledge of Salesforce CPQ, its end-of-life roadmap, and key differences with Revenue Cloud.
- Experience with product/rate plan modeling, pricing strategies, approval workflows, quoting processes, and subscription revenue processes.
- Migration experience (nice to have) from legacy CPQ to Revenue Cloud.
Success Metrics
- Accurate and profitable SOW scoping/estimation.
- Win rate improvement on PS-led opportunities.
- Customer satisfaction with solution design and clarity of roadmap.
- Reduction of delivery risk via strong architectural alignment.
