Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to lead, coordinate, and oversee Medicaid state reporting initiatives with a strong emphasis on documentation accuracy, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional alignment. This role will serve as a primary liaison between Business, IT, Data, and Compliance teams to ensure timely, accurate, and fully validated reporting deliverables submitted to state agencies.
The ideal candidate must demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, deep expertise in requirements validation, and the ability to translate complex business needs into compliant, high-quality reporting documentation. Experience with Indiana PathWays or other state Medicaid programs is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements Management & Documentation Oversight
Collaborate with business owners, product leads, and data teams to validate Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) and Technical Requirement Documents (TRDs).
Ensure all requirements, logic flows, and technical specifications comply with state Medicaid reporting rules, including changes, audits, and corrective actions.
Maintain end-to-end traceability of requirements across design, development, testing, and deployment.
State Reporting & Compliance
Interpret state-mandated reporting guidelines and ensure internal documentation aligns with regulatory expectations.
Partner with Compliance, Quality, and Operations teams to ensure reporting deliverables consistently meet state standards.
Support design and updates of reporting logic to accommodate evolving state pathways (preference for Indiana PathWays experience).
Data Analysis & Validation
Review, validate, and analyze data logic and reporting outputs using SQL, Excel, Power BI, or similar analytical tools.
Perform root-cause analysis for data discrepancies, report quality issues, and documentation gaps.
Work with data engineers and analysts to confirm system logic matches business and technical documentation.
Project Management & Cross-Functional Leadership
Lead end-to-end project planning, execution, risk mitigation, and reporting for Medicaid reporting initiatives.
Facilitate cross-functional meetings, drive status updates, and ensure deliverables meet timelines and quality standards.
Proactively identify risks, blockers, and dependencies across systems, teams, and documentation workflows.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
Communicate complex technical and regulatory requirements to business and IT stakeholders in clear, actionable language.
Ensure all documentation (BRDs, TRDs, mapping documents, logic descriptions, test cases) is consistent, complete, and aligned with state expectations.
Serve as a single point of contact for requirement clarifications, documentation reviews, and cross-team collaboration.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, Healthcare Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
7+ years of experience in Project Management, Business Analysis, or Reporting Quality roles.
Hands-on experience validating BRDs/TRDs, requirements traceability, and documentation workflows.
Strong working knowledge of SQL, Excel, data validation techniques, and KPI/metric reporting.
Experience in Medicaid or Managed Care Organization (MCO) reporting.
Exceptional communication, documentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
Ability to work onsite in Louisville, KY.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Indiana PathWays, HIP/Hoosier HealthWise, or other Midwest Medicaid programs.
Power BI experience for advanced data visualization and report validation.
PMP, Scrum Master, or other project management certifications.
Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall SDLC methodologies.
Experience with regulatory audits, data quality remediation, or CMS/state reporting systems.
