Mainframe Security Engineer – Alpharetta, GA (locals only)

We are seeking a Security Engineer to provide engineering and operational support for the firm's Enterprise Z Mainframe Security platforms. This role focuses on implementing, maintaining, and automating security initiatives related to access control, encryption, and authentication in a high-volume environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Mainframe Security Support: Provide engineering support for MS Enterprise Z Mainframe Security products (CA/Broadcom-TSS, IBM-RACF, IBM-ZSecure suite).
• Security Design & Implementation: Design and support initiatives related to encryption, authentication, and authorization (Kerberos, Digital Certificates, Encryption, Pass tickets, entitlement provision).
• Maintenance & Upgrades: Schedule, coordinate, and perform post-implementation validation of software and OS upgrades/patches. Leverage new features in security software.
• Automation & Tooling: Develop automation, tooling, reports, utilities, and batch programs using programming languages like JCL and REXX.
• Collaboration & Support: Interact with technology teams (Systems Programming, DBA, CICS/MQ Support) and participate in an on-call rotation to address issues.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: 5+ years of related work experience on the mainframe.
• Core Security: Experience with Mainframe security software configuration/internals (specifically Broadcom/CA-TSS).
• Programming: Ability to program in Mainframe batch and reporting languages (C, JCL, and REXX).
• Platform Knowledge: Experience with z/OS utilities (ISPF, TSO, SDSF, JES) and distributed technology (UNIX, USS file systems).
• Databases: Experience with database technology (Sybase, DB2, SQL).
• Desired: Knowledge of PKI, digital certificates, Kerberos, SSL/SSH. Experience with PERL, shell scripting, and middleware (MQ Series).
