Project Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Automation and DevOps Engineer to support the migration of Java/JEE applications to Maven and transition projects to GitHub. The selected resource will work closely with the Automation and Operations teams to modernize the build, deployment, and CI/CD processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Convert existing Eclipse/RAD-compliant Java/JEE applications into Maven-based projects.
- Migrate and manage project repositories in GitHub.
- Configure and implement GitHub Actions to automate build and publishing workflows.
- Collaborate with the Operations team to automate deployments to WebSphere Application Server.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Shell and Jython in a UNIX environment.
- Troubleshoot build, deployment, and configuration issues across environments.
- Ensure best practices for version control, CI/CD pipelines, and build automation are followed.

Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Strong background in Java/JEE build and deployment automation.
- Hands-on experience with Maven conversion and dependency management.
- Proven ability to create and manage CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions.
- Familiar with enterprise environments using IBM WebSphere.
- Excellent scripting skills in Unix Shell and Jython.
- Collaborative, detail-oriented, and proactive problem-solver.
