About the Role
We are seeking a proactive Usability Engineer to join our UX team. You will apply human factors engineering and user-centered design principles to create safe, efficient, and intuitive user experiences — particularly in regulated environments like healthcare or medical devices.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, conduct, and analyze formative and summative usability testing.
Perform FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) to identify and mitigate usability risks.
Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes using Figma.
Conduct use analysis and produce Use Analysis Reports.
Analyze user data (qualitative & quantitative) to drive design decisions.
Maintain detailed documentation for compliance (FDA, ISO, IEC standards).
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and lead design reviews.
Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
Take ownership of usability deliverables and mentor junior designers.
Required Skills
5+ years in usability engineering or UX design.
Strong knowledge of FMEA, formative/summative testing, and use analysis.
Proficiency in Figma and usability/research tools.
Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
Experience in regulated industries (healthcare/medical devices) preferred.
Nice to Have
Familiarity with FDA Human Factors guidance or IEC 62366.
Experience with statistical analysis tools for usability data.
Strong multitasking ability in fast-paced environments.
