Role Description: Job Title Senior Network Engineer Infrastructure Focus Job Summary Legal General America is seeking a highly experienced Senior Network Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise-wide network infrastructure. This role is critical to ensuring the performance, security, and scalability of LGAs IT environment. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of hands-on experience in network engineering, with a strong background in infrastructure, cloud integration, and security protocols.
Key Responsibilities
Design, deploy, and maintain complex LAN, WAN, WLAN, and cloud-based network solutions. Configure and support network equipment including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, and proxy servers. Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal speed, reliability, and uptime. Lead infrastructure upgrades, including service packs, patches, and security configurations. Implement and maintain network security protocols to protect data and systems. Collaborate with IT leadership and cross-functional teams to align network architecture with business goals. Provide Level 23 support and serve as an escalation point for network-related issues. Document network configurations, changes, and procedures for compliance and operational efficiency. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to strategic planning and technology roadmaps.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.10 years of experience in network engineering and infrastructure management
Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCPIP, BGP, OSPF, IPSEC, QoS)
Hands-on experience with Cisco IOS, Juniper, Palo Alto, and other enterprise-grade systems
Proficiency in network monitoring and diagnostic tools
Experience with cloud networking (Azure, AWS) and hybrid environments.
Professional certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or CISSP are highly preferred.
Preferred Skills
Experience with SD-WAN, MPLS, VLANs, and VoIP.
Familiarity with ITIL practices and enterprise SaaS platforms
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and leadership abilities
