Job Title: Mainframe Db2 DBA with SQL Tuning
Location: Cincinnati OH Onsite
Mode: Contract
Job Description:
- Manage, monitor, and administer DB2 (or other mainframe databases) on z/OS environments.
- Perform SQL tuning and query optimization to improve application performance.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve performance bottlenecks in queries, stored procedures, and database objects.
- Work with application developers to design efficient SQL and database structures.
- Implement and maintain database performance monitoring tools and scripts.
- Provide recommendations on indexing, partitioning, and schema design for optimal performance.
- Perform backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning for mainframe databases.
- Support production deployments, upgrades, and patching of database systems.
- Conduct capacity planning and proactive performance health checks.
- Maintain database security, compliance, and audit readiness.
