Job Description:- Senior Backend Engineer / Solutions Architect – Node.js | GCP | TypeScript | Finance
We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer / Solutions Architect to join our client’s innovative engineering team. This role is ideal for a backend specialist with deep expertise in Node.js and TypeScript, who is confident designing scalable backend architectures within a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment. Experience in the finance domain and OLAP systems is a must.
As a senior contributor and technical leader, you’ll drive the development of cloud-native backend systems supporting high-volume, data-driven applications in a fast-paced financial services environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Node.js and TypeScript.
Architect cloud-native solutions on GCP, with heavy use of Kubernetes, Spanner, and BigQuery.
Leverage deep understanding of financial systems and OLAP workflows to design performant data pipelines and analytics platforms.
Collaborate with data engineering, DevOps, and product teams to align backend infrastructure with business needs and financial compliance standards.
Lead architectural discussions and ensure system reliability, security, and maintainability across services.
Troubleshoot complex backend issues and support continuous improvement in development practices.
Required Qualifications:
7+ years of backend engineering experience.
Advanced expertise in Node.js and TypeScript in production environments.
Hands-on experience with GCP, particularly Kubernetes, Spanner, and BigQuery.
Direct experience in the financial industry (fintech, banking, asset management, etc.).
Strong knowledge of OLAP systems and building data services optimized for analysis and reporting.
Solid grasp of distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native best practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, Helm).
Knowledge of financial data compliance and security frameworks.
Strong mentorship skills and ability to influence technical direction across teams.
