Overview:
A public sector client of ours in Austin, Texas is looking for a Senior Database Analyst for a 6-month remote contract opportunity that could potentially extend. Due to the nature of the role, they are only considering remote candidates who are currently residing in Texas at this time.

Experience Required: Minimum 8 years

The Senior Database Analyst will perform advanced analysis to support, improve, and enhance databases and reports for a large-scale project. This role requires expertise in SQL, PL/SQL, and stored procedures to devise solutions for complex problems, provide thought leadership, manage project scope, and communicate project status. The role also requires advanced data aggregation and analysis skills to ensure the accuracy and efficacy of reports.

The position is part of IT-SEDS (Information Technology – Statewide Education Data System) and operates within a structured SDLC process, leveraging an Agile-like development methodology. The role involves collaboration with multiple agency stakeholders to support 1200 school districts effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and support Oracle SQL and PL/SQL-based solutions.
Create, maintain, and optimize stored procedures and functions.
Perform unit testing to validate system functionality and reliability.
Develop and maintain reports using Jasper Reports.
Collaborate in Agile development cycles to ensure timely and accurate project deliverables.
Provide comprehensive documentation for development and testing activities.
Work across teams to ensure data accuracy and effective report delivery for stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

8 years: Skill in designing, coding, and supporting Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.
8 years: Experience in stored procedures and function development.
8 years: Proficiency in unit testing.
8 years: Experience in Agile development methodology.
5 years: Expertise in Jasper Reports development.
Preferred Qualifications

3 years: Knowledge of JIRA and Bitbucket for project tracking and version contro
