Roles & Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategy and planning for onboarding and adopting existing AWS centric applications to VMware Environment.
- Lead the data, code development, testing, networking, shared infrastructure. DevOps and release activities required to complete onboarding to VmWare infas from AWS.
- Work in the DevOps team, to test the new shared infrastructure services for on premises failover environment including Confluent Kafka-MRC event driven architecture, Redis cache, Cloudian-S3 data store, Flink data pipes and Enterprise PostgreSQL database to ensure they are accessible and functional to be ready for onboarding.
- Work with DevOps team to test the connectivity between new failover shared services and existing shared services: Secret, identity, LDA, DNS, Artifactory, Jenkins, Splunk services.
- Deploy the risk application on RTOP using the newly developed continuous deployment pipeline on the RTOP shared infrastructure.
- Lead team that makes necessary code changes to risk application to make sure they are compatible with RTOP VMware environment.
- Lead the strategy for functional and integration testing effort to ensure the onboarded risk application are tested for functionality, integration and end-to-end process testing.
- Collaboratively work with other teams in performing in failover, non-functional and operational testing for Risk applications
- Understand the difference between developing the risk application on AWS and VMware environment. Then Ideate solutions to complex technical challenges in adopting applications to VMware Environment; code, test, troubleshoot, debug, and document the solutions you develop. Use agile software development model to produce well-designed programs, scripts, and tools required to provision, configure, and monitor new shared infrastructure services for on premises failover environment.
- Continuously improve the processes and the DevOps team using thoughtful, calculated approaches to identify opportunities, and challenge those around you to strive for perfection.
Key Skills:
- At least 15 years of strong technical leadership, strategy & planning skills
- At least 10 years of leadership, stakeholder management and offshore management skills
- Ability to lead and collaborate with Development, QA, DevOps, Infrastructure and Networking teams.
- At least 15 years of experience in developing cloud native, microservices-event driven application on-premises (VMware environment and AWS Cloud) and ability adopt the application to both the environment.
- At 6-7 years of experience building specializing in cloud/on-premises application modernization/movement/adoption using virtualization, DevOps pipelines, shared infrastructure deployments using terraform and data pipes.
- About 5-6 years of experience in building Java streaming application using Flink, Kafka, Java Microservices, Redis Cache, and Enterprise Databases is good to have.
- Deep understanding of performing data replication, failover, and DR strategies
- Also 5-6 years of experience in collaborating with the functional, integration, non-functional (Performance, Security, Failover), and operational testing
- 6-7 years of hands -on experience in Maven/Gradle using event driven architecture (Kafka)
- Intermediate working knowledge of development tools like distributed message brokers like Kafka, and data streaming pipes using Flink.
- Understanding of QA strategy and implementation
- Experience in Kafka data replication between AWS and On-Prem
- Experience with continuous deployment tools, techniques, and automation frameworks – especially Terraform Enterprise, Ansible, helm charts and deploying into Kubernetes (k8s)
- Expertise with monitoring related tools and frameworks like Splunk, LogicMonitor, SignalFX, and Prometheus.
- Worked on projects involving deployment and management of micro services, and hybrid cloud/on-prem infrastructure, VMware ESXI, VMware Cloud Automation Center, AWS, VMWare Cloud, DevOps tooling etc.
