Release Manager


  • Build, test and deliver the capability through the lifecycle, focusing on coordinating various aspects of production and projects into one integrated solution. They are responsible for ensuring that resources, timelines, and the overall quality of the process are all considered and accounted for

Release Manager Responsibilities:

  • Oversees, manages and coordinates all activities to identify releases, develop releases, plans, assign releases to appropriate IT staff, report on progress of releases, and coordinate release activities with the Change Management, Service Validation and Testing
  • Plans and controls the movement of releases to test and live environments
  • Ensures that the integrity of the live production environment is protected, and the correct components are released
  • Receives, logs, qualifies and assigns all release requests
  • Assigns requested changes to specific releases
  • Identifies the appropriate templates
  • Responsible for packaging the code
  • Assist with Code Branch strategy
  • Conducts release plan reviews
  • Updates existing release plans
  • Updates master release schedule
  • Interfaces with Change Scheduler to schedule release implementations
  • Schedules release readiness reviews
  • Works closely with Change Management and participates in Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings
  • Reports on status of releases
  • Participates in Post Implementation Reviews (PIRs)
  • Escalates release as needed to resolve issues
  • Communication skills is a key skill needed for this role. Role would be communicating with client, Business stakeholders and IT teams.
