Job Title:   DevOps / Middleware Engineer  
Duration:  10+ Months with possible extension   
Client: State of LA – 
Louisiana Department of Health (LDH)
Location: Baton Rouge, LA / Romite
The scope of the proposed services will include the following:
  • Serve as a senior member of the LaMEDS Deployment Team
  •  Execute infra tasks submitted by the test teams
  • Execute data fixes in SMS that exceed character limit in IWS
  • Create and manage folder structures for UAT and Production environments
  • Prep files for UAT environments, verify, prep and archive files for production
  • Approve, review and execute RFC’s, execute changes to property files
  • Support daily/weekly AUAT, TUAT, CUAT, IUAT, STG1, STG2, STG3, TRN, and Production Builds (M-S), evenings, and on-call as required by deployment schedule. Sync all UAT environments after Production deployment
  • Communicate via email to LDH testers, the status of deployments and when builds are completed
  • Work with other OTS Teams when necessary for corrective action to resolve infrastructure issues
  • Attend weekly Team Meetings
  • Provide technical support to other LaMEDS team leads (i.e. Reporting, Batch, Testing) ensuring continuity of operations
  • Collaborate with Contractor, OTS Server and Database teams as necessary to solve problems
  • Plan and perform ongoing routine application maintenance tasks
  • Administer, plan and manage installation and configurations of products in various environments
  • Troubleshoot performance and server software configuration issues across various environments
Expertise and/or relevant experience in the following areas are mandatory:
  • Minimum 4 years demonstrated experience with production deployments and working on teams.
  • Experience with Bamboo and Git
  • Work nights and weekends when required.
Expertise and/or relevant experience in the following areas are desirable but not mandatory:
  • Strong analytical, technical and troubleshooting skills
  • Working knowledge of JIRA
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Experience with clients for SSH or SCP (Putty, Winscp, or mRemoteNG)
  • Experience in SDLC phases such as design, development, testing, and deployment
  • Excellent system, application and network troubleshooting skills using various toolsets
  • Experience in Server Operating Systems, such as Windows Server, and RedHat/Linux,
  • Experience with installation, configuration, administration and tuning of Linux and Windows applications
  • Experience with configuring, installing and administration of IBM WebSphere Application Server
  • Exposure and understanding of server shell scripting in a Linux environment
  • Ability to multi-task & support multiple priorities/multiple deliverables
