• We are seeking an SRE Engineer with extensive experience in implementing observability solutions, particularly utilizing DataDog.
• The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tenant consolidation, logs migration, existing tools rationalization, governance, observability expansion, and observability FinOps.
• A full-stack development skill set is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and Implementation: Implement scalable full-stack observability solutions using DataDog to monitor application performance and system health.
• Tenant Consolidation: Lead efforts in consolidating multiple tenant environments to streamline observability processes and improve efficiency.
• Logs Migration: Migration of logs from legacy systems to DataDog, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
• Tools Rationalization: Evaluate existing monitoring tools and recommend consolidation strategies to enhance observability capabilities.
• Design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable systems across multi-cloud environments.
• Develop and optimize telemetry pipelines for metrics, logs, and traces using DataDog tools.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate observability best practices into development workflows.
• Automate repetitive tasks and improve system efficiency through scripting and tooling.
Experience:
• 8+ years of experience in software engineering or SRE roles, with a focus on production systems at scale.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience with DataDog , including SaaS implementations.
• Expertise in at least one programming language (e.g., Java, Python, etc.) and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform).
• Experience with telemetry data processing and observability tools.
Technical Skills:
• Strong knowledge of observability tools, particularly DataDog.
• Experience with cloud-based architectures (AWS, Azure).
• Familiarity with full-stack development (frontend and backend technologies).
• Proficient in scripting languages (Python, Shell) for automation tasks.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with technical teams and stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
