Analytical R&D Manager
Role and responsibilities:
In this role, you will use your technical knowledge to oversee development tasks and to contribute to strategic technology plans and the project portfolio. As an R&D (Research and Development) Mechanical Engineer, you will contribute significantly to technology and product development projects by identifying and implementing innovative solutions. The work model for the role is: Hybrid This role is contributing to the Process Automation Measurement & Analytics division in {insert region}. Main stakeholders are {insert main stakeholder groups if available}. You will be mainly accountable for: • Designing, manufacturing, and test components that fulfill requirements for GC Pro. Work directly with Senior Engineers to develop and test new mechanical approaches for ABB Products • Analyzing problems or deficiencies and developing Product solutions to resolve them. • Conducting mechanical experiments and evaluations to improve and innovate product designs. • Updating documentation and drawings/designs using CAD technology. Knowledge of 3D CAD modelling tools (SolidWorks required) and integrated CFD/Thermal Analysis/FEA tools a plus. Qualifications for the role
Bachelor’s degree /master’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
Self-motivated, comfortable working in a team environment or on your own.
Demonstrable detail orientation, problem analysis and systematic troubleshooting skills.
Must want to work with technology and is a hands-on person.
Must be in good academic standing with the university.
Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
