Role: COBOL developer
Location : Cincinnati, OH (Remote)

Detailed JD :
The COBOL developer will work with a team of developers within the IT Billing and Commissions Team to build, maintain and support the existing insurance direct bill mainframe applications. In addition, this developer will be responsible for working with the team to transition these applications to newer technologies if desired and supported by the business units.
Additional responsibilities are as follows:
• Work with a team of developers to create, maintain and enhance COBOL, CICS, JCL and DB2 programs
• Provide support and maintenance of existing and new applications
• Complete program modifications and performance tuning
• Provide problem solving, debugging, data gathering and technical specifications
Required Skills:
• 3+ years overall software development in COBOL/CICS/JCL (Strong programming skills)
• Experience with DB2 or other database structures
• Must also be proficient in consuming XML files as input
• Professional self-starter who is clever, innovative and able to work independently
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Must be able to work well in a fast-paced, team environment
Preferred Skills/Characteristics:
• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent
• Knowledge and experience in the following TSO, JES3, ChangeMan, Assembler
